the solution of _____ includes the entire ine of y=2x+1
hartnn (hartnn):
and.... ?
list the choices also.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
A)y>2x+2
B)y<2x+1
C)y>2x
D)y>2
hartnn (hartnn):
can u plot lines?
like if i tell you to plot, y=2x+2, can u do it ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no.

hartnn (hartnn):
awww.... you want to learn ??
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok
hartnn (hartnn):
so, we'll plot lines by finding the 'intercepts'
Lets find 'x' intercept.
its found by putting y=0 in the line equation
so, put y=0 in y=2x+2 and tell me what u get ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
0=2x+2
hartnn (hartnn):
x=.. ?

idk
OpenStudy (anonymous):
0
hartnn (hartnn):
no,
0=2x+2
subtract 2 from both sides, what u get ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
0
hartnn (hartnn):
huh? how ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
0=2x+2 then i - 2 from the 2's in the equation
hartnn (hartnn):
its not done like that
0=2x+2
subtracting 2 from both sides will give you
0-2 =2x+2-2
got this ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
kind
OpenStudy (anonymous):
*kinda
hartnn (hartnn):
ask if there are any kinds of doubts on how this, how that...
so, 0-2 =2x+2-2
-2 = 2x
Dividing 2 from both sides.
-2/2 = 2x/2
x= -1
so the 'x' intercept is (-1,0)

what?
hartnn (hartnn):
which step did u not get ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oo.. nvm now i get it
hartnn (hartnn):
good, now similarly find 'y' intercept for me.
putting x=0 in the line equation
so, put x=0 in y=2x+2 and tell me what u get ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
y=2(0)+2

hartnn (hartnn):
so, y=... ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
idk..
hartnn (hartnn):
what is 2*0 =.. ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
0
hartnn (hartnn):
so, y=.. ?

hartnn (hartnn):
no, y=0+2 =2
ok ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok..ooo i forgot the +2
hartnn (hartnn):
so, y intercept is (0,2)
ok ?
now can u plot points on the graph(co-ordinate axes ?)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok..

hartnn (hartnn):
can u plot points on the graph(co-ordinate axes ) ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ya
hartnn (hartnn):
then plot both the intercepts, (-1,0) ans (0,2) for me.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok did
hartnn (hartnn):
now join those points with a straight line.
and ta-da you got your line y=2x+1 !!

*y=2x+2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but i put that in my quiz and it said that i got it wrong
hartnn (hartnn):
we just learnt to plot a line!!
y>2x+2 will give you the region.....
you know how to find that region ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ya but on my quiz i tryed both a and band they were doth wrong
OpenStudy (anonymous):
*b and

why u trying randomly ? lets solve it completely and be sure about an answer ... ok ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok
hartnn (hartnn):
so, i'll draw the line y=2x+2 , you tell me which region ? upper or lower?
