Think of absolute value as the distance from a number to zero on the number line. It may be zero or a positive number, but never negative. It's hard to understand what your problem is. Can you type it?

Ok. The -2 at left stays -2 bec there is no abs value. The absolute value of -4 = 4, so you have -2 x 5 x 3 x 4. Multiply all the numbers out and the result is negative.
