From my view of practical knowledge,
The angle of lighting can emphasize texture and detail or decrease it...ie..,photogenic form of illumination is produced....For example, Try to capture view of the sun at noon....what effects you is called photogenic form of illumination.....Appreciate u for the Questions from General View....

Naturally, we would need light to be able to see - however, in manipulating the light source, we can focus the attention of our audience. A broad light source lessens shadows, reduces contrast and suppresses texture, whilst a narrow light source would accentuate whatever features are in view, leaving the rest to the shadows. In some cases, a backlight is used to accentuate the silhouette of an object, bringing into focus the contours of the object in question.
