Help? In a 80° - 80° - 990° triangle, the shorter leg is which of the following?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the formula for a 30,60,90 is Hypotenuse = 2 x short leg long leg = √3 x short leg they are formed by splitting an equilateral triangle in two. If the equilateral triangle has side lengths of 2, that means the bottom triangle leg now was a length of 1, with a hypoteneuse of 2. By using the Pythagorean theorem, we find that the remaining side is √2. Given that the answer is √3 times the length of the shorter leg.
