Could someone help me with Graphing Inequalities in Two Variables?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got a question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah I do i am just confused with Graphing Inequalities in Two Variables? would you know how to do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah like both x and y at the same time right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

More like slopes and such...I don't know I think I might be able to figure it out though :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha well do yu have a problem/ example?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah I have an example here one min

OpenStudy (anonymous):

those are the answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one of those are the answers but i think i can get now thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wanna show me just in case?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is C but i have to double check

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did yu get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i found a point and then if it is in the shaded area then it fits

OpenStudy (anonymous):

more like yu have to find the equation on of the like then plug a point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to do it then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well what is the y intercept of the line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well it is y=mx+b so in this case mx would be 5x and b would be 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why 5x and 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha sorry if annoying yu but this is how i teach

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its okay if you want to explain it me..go ahead

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know I actually have to go, but thanks anyways! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i just dont get the 1. if b is the y intercept then it should be a -1 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I actually think that it would be A. The correct inequality is not listed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha can yu prove it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well when I tried to fit in the equation..it wouldn't fit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well lest check the slope. yu sure is 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah 100% that is the choice it gives me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) The correct inequality is not listed. B) 5x + y 1 C) 5x + y 1 D) 5x - y 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats why i said it was A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so yur b and yur m yu have so yu can make the equation right but without the sign.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) The correct inequality is not listed. B) 5x + y >equalto 1 C) 5x + y <equalto 1 D) 5x - y >equalto 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay I have to go now sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right so it would be y__5x-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm okay. i'll be on for a while. most times im on okay?
