It found biochemical methods to treat emotional ills such as depression. It enabled people to achieve their goals by reprogramming their thinking patterns. Since no one else has answered I'm going to just go ahead and tell you what I think it might be (Not certain, just an educated guess) A. Sigmund Freud was a psychologist who worked in fields mostly involving the subconscious, he was interested in how the deepest depths of the human psyche worked.
