Which statement describes city life in the late 1800s and early 1900s? -Urban planning helped many of the larger cities control the problems brought by rapid population growth. -Air and water pollution was regulated first by state governments and then by the federal government. -Health hazards from unsafe water were eliminated by the development of public waterworks. -Finding adequate housing was a problem for many city residents, who were forced to live in tenements.

do you have any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know it was dangerous back then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe many Immigrants who ended up living in cities lived in tenements

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it's the last one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks again!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you need anymore help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he's wrong only because one of the answer choices says citizens were forced into tenements, so it is not the last choice. IMMIGRANTS were forced into tenements not citizens. the answer is either b or c. im stuck on this question as well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not C because i put that and got it wrong so it must be B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which was the answer?!

OpenStudy (ericanoel912):

??

OpenStudy (lilyalcee):

It did not say citizens it said city residents. Both citizens and immigrants are classified as city residents so it's D.
