HELP NEEDED!!! in the diagram of the trapezoid ABCD, AB = CD the measure of angle B is 40 degrees more than the measure http://www.castlelearning.com/review/Courses/geometry/MI19737.gif?v=20010725111704of angle A what is the measure of angle A and B??

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Since AB = CD, this is an isosceles trapezoid. That means that the two bottom angles are congruent and the two top angles are congruent. Also, the sum of the measures of the angles is (n - 2)180 = (4 - 2)180 = 360 x + 40 + x + 40 + x + x = 360 Solve for x Then do x + 40

so.. measure of angle A is 70 and B is 110?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Correct. You can check it yourself: 70 + 70 + 110 + 110 = 360, and 110 is 40 more than 70.
