help! i cant figure this out! y=1/2x-6 2x+6y=19

You can substitute y in 2x+6y=19 for 1/2x-6 which is also equal to y. YOu get 2x+6(1/2x-6)=19. Solve for x

Then you can substitute your value of x into one of the original equations to solve for y.
