solve trigonometric equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\tan ^{2}x sinx-sinx=0\] i got to sinx(tan^2x-1)=0 but dont knpw what to do next

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup go little furhther that either sinx=0 or tan^2x-1=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but for tan^2x-1=0 use tan^2x=(1-cos2x)/(1+cos2x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x=sin^-1(0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why would we do that for cos?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if sinx=0 then x= m* pi where m is any integer...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you take sinx out as a common factor in sin2x-sinx=0?
