system of inequalities

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please provide only one ordered pair (x, y) that will work for this system of inequalities.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i serisouly cant figure out the answer to this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any clue?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Graph the two lines, then pick a point that is in the proper area.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok..ill try too

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Took a little while to do my diagram :-) I drew the two lines, then figured out which of the 4 sectors met the requirements. Any point in the blue region satisfies both conditions, for example (-2,0). 0 > 3(-2) + 1 = -5, and 0 < -2(-2)/3 + 4 = 5 1/3

thankyou..i appreciate it. its so late, my brain is really not working at all. lol. goodnight friend

OpenStudy (anonymous):

though there can be many if u need just one then check (-3,6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@whpalmer4 is the example you provded..is it one that i can use? does it pertain to this?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

It is a diagram of the inequalities in this problem, if that's what you mean.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, thanks
