Math problem

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

Hint: log x^b = b(log x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4,83 I had take the base of the log like 10 :)

@ankolix Please don't just give out answers. It doesn't help the asker in solving future questions like this.

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

A more in-depth solution: log 8x^3 = 4 Since 8 = 2^3 (if you don't already know this, memorize it!), log (2x) ^3 = 4 3 log(2x) = 4 log(2x) = 4. You should be able to solve this from here.

x=5000 right?

@tyteen4a03

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

Wolfram|Alpha gave me something else.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm well what is the answer ?

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

Hint: it is not a whole number. (Oh, and in case you were wondering, my last step is wrong. It should be log(2x) = 4/3. Sorry!)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh ok :) thx then
