Solve the system. y = 2 - x y = 4x + 7

I'll be using substitution. First, you would substitute either of the equations into the other. 2-x=4x+7 Subtract 2 from both sides. -x=4x+5 Subtract 4x from both sides. -5x=5 Divide both sides by -5 and you will have your answer.
