Can someone check my answers before I turn them in? 1. Write equation in its logarithmic form: 8^y=300. MY ANSWER: log(base)8*300=y 2. use properties of logarithms to expand the logarithmic expression as much as possible: log(b) x^7. MY ANSWER: 7*log(b)x 3. use properties of logarithms to condense each logarithmic expression. Write the expression as a single logarithm whose coefficient is 1: 5 log(b) x + 6 log(b) y MY ANSWER: log(b) x^5 y^6 4. use common logarithms or natural logarithms and a calculator to evaluate to four decimal places: log(16) 57.2 MY ANSWER: 1.4595

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

first 3 seem alright,,4th doesnt..

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

that'd require you to change bases first..what was your attempt ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm, I took the log of 57.2 and divided it by the log of 16.

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

yes the method is correct! please recheck your calculations in that case..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.2041?

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

yep..
