What's the value of x in this proportion? (x+3)/6= 5/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure but I think you would do the inverses, like when you work out any other equation to find x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this what the equation looks like? \[(x+3)\div6=\frac{ 5 }{ 4 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay then you would multiply both sides by 6, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess these are the answer choices it gives me 9/2 9/8 27/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's 9/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thank you for your help
