Ace Car Rental advertises that a rental car costs $25 per day plus a charge of 10 cents per mile. For the same car, Better Car Rental advertises a price of $40 per day plus 5 cents per mile. For what number of miles is the cost of renting a car the same at both companies? A. 250 miles a day B. 500 miles a day C. 300 miles a day D. 275 miles a day
Set up formulas to represent the cost in terms of mileage at each company. Make sure you convert between dollars and cents properly! For example, the cost at Ace would be \[Cost_{Ace} = $25 + \frac{$0.10}{mile}*mileage\] Set the two equal to each other and solve for the mileage.
Better Car Rental always turns out more expensize then Ace Car, I did all 4 of them and they do not turn out with the same answer @whpalmer4. i must be doing something wrong
