Ace Car Rental advertises that a rental car costs $25 per day plus a charge of 10 cents per mile. For the same car, Better Car Rental advertises a price of $40 per day plus 5 cents per mile. For what number of miles is the cost of renting a car the same at both companies? A. 250 miles a day B. 500 miles a day C. 300 miles a day D. 275 miles a day

Can you write expressions representing the cost of each company? like the first one is 10 cents per mile plus 25 dollars so .10m+25 can you write one for the second company?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did all of them but the better Car Rental came out way higher than Ace Car Rental for some reason

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whats the expression for the second company?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.5 x 250 miles plus 40 is how you would get the answer right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, you're writing expressions that represent the cost of the companies, dont plug in any of the choices i said the first one was .10m+25 the second one is .05m+40 equate them and solve for m .10m+25=.05m+40
