Can someone explain what a radian is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One radian is the angle substended at by an arc of a circle of which the arc length is equal to the radius of the circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is a unit of angle, equal to an angle at the center of a circle whose arc is equal in length to the radius. (courtesy of google definitions!!) :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iheartfood But still tho its the same definition

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha yeah i know :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just thought maybe different kinds of definitions might help @ArkGoLucky understand it better :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When I said explain, I did not mean recite the definition to me. I already looked up the definition and did not understand it which is why I asked the question. But thanks for trying.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha okay sorry!! i thought u just wanted like a definition.. :/ just wondering though, is this geometry? or what kind of math is this? radian sounds familiar to me... i just wanna see if i've learned it b4 as well so i can try to remember it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm learning it for trigonometry. But I understand it now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay haha cool!! sorry i didn't answer with what u wanted! but I'm glad u understand it now :)
