A projectile remains in the air for 6.00 s after it is fired. The horizontal component of its velocity is 100 m/s. (a) How far did it move forward before it hit the ground? (b) How long after firing did it reach the highest point of its path? (c) What was the altitude of the highest point in its path?

OpenStudy (tcy):

time of flight 6s, use kinematic equation to solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it's a parabolic flight and neglecting air resistance then it will reach it's highest point after 3 seconds. It effectively falls for three seconds from the highest point so you can use the formula h=0.5gt2 where h is the height, g is the gravitational constant (about 9.8ms-2) and t is the time in seconds.
