I agree.  Because envying doesn't help when you pursue something, whatever you want to have in your life.  Envying can be positive, however, when you can change it to motivation or use it as motivation ;->

But people who envy others don't realize all the positive things they have in life therefore they don't understand that envying others is a waste of time. How exactly is it a waste of time if they don't know what they really have?

As Fallen_Angel` said, envying is a waste of time because instead of spending time envying others, you can do so many positive things.

It's easy to envy others, but by stopping it and instead looking at yourself and appreciating what you already have, you can go further toward your goal, be nice to people around you, or...much more.

good side- you should envy the good things in people
bad- envying the bad in people, thinking it if great and getting jealous over things u shouldn't
