OpenStudy (koikkara):

from bottom of my knowledge, The bases in the DNA structure codes for amino acids, which make up proteins. The DNA structure which is a sequence of bases tells the cell which amino acids to link together to make a certain protein. Each gene is a sequence of bases on a DNA molecule coding for a sequence of amino acids in a polypeptide chain (many amino acids bonded together by a peptide bond after condensation reaction occurred) The code carried by the DNA is a three-base or triplet code. Each adjacent group of three bases code for a amino acid. The DNA carries the codes that carries the code to determine the structure and function of cells by telling them which protein to make. After protein synthesis (transcription and translation) a certain vital protein will be made which is coded for by the DNA. Hope this is good enough,..... if not, try Googling.... glad i could help
