Decide if the following sentence is grammatically correct or incorrect and why. Je suis descendu l'escalier. (french)

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

What other choice of grammar could it be? Write both options and decide which is correct and which is wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

'descendu' is in past tense (passé composé) and 'je suis' is in present tense. I would write: Je descends l'escalier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you want to use the past tense, it is "j'ai dscendu l'escalier". This is passé composé. If you need present, this is "je descend l'escalier". I'm French, trustt me :)

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

J'ai descendu / je descends @MagaliH ;-)

Thanks for correcting my typos (I haven't checked before submitting my answer, I'm sorry) @Vincent-Lyon.Fr

Hi! I thought you might be one spelling reform ahead of me ;-)
