Jack travels at 5.5 miles per hour for 7 hours. Jill travels 90 feet per seconds forr 4.5 hours. Approximately, how many more miles does Jack travel than Jill?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

5.5 x 7 = 38.5 miles (distance Jack traveled) 90 x 4.5 = 405 ft (distance Jill traveled) 1 ft. = .000189394 rounded to .00019 1/.00019 = 405/x (1 ft to .00019 miles as 405 ft to x miles) - cross multiply x = (.00019)(405) x = .07695 miles (this is equal to 405 ft) 38.5 miles - .07695 miles = 38.42 Jack traveled 38.42 more miles then Jill. I think I did this correctly, but you might want to get a second opinion :)
