please help MEDALS WILL BE GIVEN!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[options a. b \ge 8 ,b \ge -6 , c. b \le 8 ,d. b \le -6\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yah ok \[-b-7 \le -1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve algebraically. u got this thing!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need help that is why i asked

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well think of the question with the less than or equal to symbol as an equal sign. Just remember if you divide by a negative the symbol will become a greator than or equal to.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One treats an inequality just like and equation algebraically except that the inequality is reversed when multiplied or divided by a negative number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what answer did you get ashlynn?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not yet hold on let me think then i will ask

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is it \[b \le -6\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I think you forgot 1 step that both I and wetlife have said about multiplying or dividing by negatives.

OpenStudy (dls):

b>-6 i suppose

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i didn't need to here i will show you how i got it

OpenStudy (dls):

\[-b-7 \le -1\] \[-b \le 6 \] b>=-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DLS the problem with your work is that your less than or equal to sign cannot end up as a greator than sign. It is impossible for that to happen.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[-b - 7\le -1 \] \[-b - 7 = -1\] \[-b = 6\] \[-b \le 6\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes ashylnn, but you are missing the last step. You must simplify equation. .You are not looking for what negative b is, but you are looking for just the variable b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes so i would divide it like this ?? |dw:1357805403002:dw|
