graph the function, identify the axis of symmentry. promblem in comments

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y=(x+3)^{2}-4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh goody, its already in vertex form which means you can easily identify the axis of symmetry and graph it. =D so vertex form is y=a(x-h)^2+k x=h is the axis of symmetry, comparing this to your equation can you identify it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3but idk how to graph it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The sign changes so its x=-3 -3 is also the x coordinate of the vertex, k would be the y coordinate of the vertex so (-3,-4) is the vertex
