What was the priest's relationship to other church officials during the middle ages?

I guess I'm not 100% sure what you're asking as far as relationship...but

priests were basically the lowest rank in the church. They were in charge of teaching children about the Bible and how to read latin, they had to care for the sick and disabled, they often cooked and whatnot too. They were not well-educated and did not hold a lot of power within the church.

Other officials were usually of wealthy families or powerful families. They typically had a lot of education and were very influential themselves.
