Find the sum of (x + 5), (-4x - 2) and (2x - 1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Finding the 'sum' just means to add them together. So you get (x+5) + (-4x-2) + (2x-1)

Combine the like terms: (x+5)+(-4x-2)+(2x-1) Add the x terms together and then the rest if the numbers: x-4x+2 and 5-2-1 That will be your answer
