Suppose twelve vectors start from 6:00 at the bottom instead of (0,0) at the center. The vector to 12:00 is doubled to (0,2). Add the new twelve vectors. (See picture)

Every vector cancels out every other vector except (0,2) and (0,-1) and those just sum to (0,1).

OpenStudy (sanchez9457):

For the sums in this picture yes, but the question modifies the clock and asks a question about the modified clock. The answer is (0,12).

I see--I wasn't understanding what was meant by "Suppose twelve vectors start from 6:00 at the bottom instead of (0,0) at the center." In fact, I'm still not completely sure I know what you mean by that, but I'm guessing you no longer need an explanation anyway.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please tell me how the solution is (0,12)
