f(x)=2x^3-3x^2+3x-2 How many zero's does it have, How many real zeros and what are the real solutions? (This is just an Example on my paper)

OpenStudy (goten77):

1st derivative test?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (goten77):

well that wont help much but the general rule is whatever power its to is how many zeroes it will have -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It asks for the total number of zeros Then asks the number of real zeros

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says Function has _____ total zeros and Function has ______ real zeros.

OpenStudy (goten77):

k so what ied do is 1st factor and get (x-1)(2x^2 -x+2) then set that = to 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

& Solve for X ?

OpenStudy (goten77):

yes...well its obvious x=1 is the 1st zero since x-1=0 x=1 now the 2nd 1 is the quadratic part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay . Ty (:
