can someone help me with this problem.. -a to the 3rd power minus 100a. I have to factor the polynomials on this.

OpenStudy (jennychan12):

-a^3 - 10a factor out the -a -a(a^2+10)

OpenStudy (jennychan12):

whoops sorry that 10 should be a 100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok tk u so so much. I had part of this but then got stuck!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u help me out on thisone also? -4w^3-16w^2+20w. I was going to divide all by -4?

OpenStudy (jennychan12):

almost there. what do all those terms have in common?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all have 4 and w in common

OpenStudy (jennychan12):

GOOD! now try factoring that out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so it would be -4w(w-1)(w+5)

OpenStudy (jennychan12):

lemme check. -4w(w^2+4w-5) yeah. :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tk u so much with these problems :)

OpenStudy (jennychan12):

no problem!
