OpenStudy (aperez):

Do you have a calculator with you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i do

OpenStudy (hba):

Nice answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D

OpenStudy (aperez):

Fine . Then on the top you will see a button that says Y= do U see it? Insert the problem and it will graph it for U :)))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do i graph the inverse though?

OpenStudy (aperez):

Inverse as what your saying the the one your doing now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i need to do an original which is 3x-5 then i need to inverse that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (aperez):

Ohhh Okay I see Wait

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks so much

OpenStudy (aperez):

It's -5x+3 just like rearrange them :D like that sorry this is my attempt tho.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so thats the inverse of 3x-5

OpenStudy (aperez):

yes :D

There's a quick and easy process to finding the inverse for f(x)= 3 x-5 First replace "f(x)" with "y" and now you are left with y=3x-5 ___________________________________________________ The next step will be to switch the "x" and the "y" and you are left with x=3y-5 ______________________________________________________ Now solve for "y" Solving for y means trying to isolate the y on one side of the equation. I won't this since you need to do a little of the work. Can you tell me what you get after solving for "y"?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

If the question is just for graphing, all you need to graph the inverse is to find it's image after reflecting about the line y=x. |dw:1358026554530:dw|
