4x-3y=24 , 5x+3y=30

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, but I'm going to give it a try! So, first you'll try to get x alone: 4x-3y=24 +3y +3y 4x=24+3y /4 /4 \[x=6+\frac{ 3 }{ 4 }y\] Now, plug x back into the original equation: \[4(6+\frac{ 3 }{ 4 })-3y=24\]\[24+3y-3y=24\] \[24+0y=24\] y=0 Then, find x by plugging y into the original equation: \[4x-3(0)=24\]\[4x=24\]\[x=6\] Again, I dunno if I did this correctly, but I tried! :o)

Thanks:)

4x-3y=24 5x+3y=30 (by simple addition) 9x=54 x=6 Then find y by plugging into the equation 4(6)-3y=24 24-3y=24 -3y=24-24=0 y=0 The solution is (x,y) = (6,4)
