The diagram is not to scale. A. 15 B. 17 C. –16 D. 16

geerky42 (geerky42):

HINT: (7x) + (2x + 36) = 180º

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7x + (2x+36) = 180 7x + 2x+36 = 180 9x+36 = 180

geerky42 (geerky42):

Yeah, NOW solve for the value of x.

@JUICEDECAFE

geerky42 (geerky42):

Can't you solve for the value of x?

geerky42 (geerky42):

@dietrich_harmon ???

C

geerky42 (geerky42):

None. Don't you know how to solve for the value of x?

geerky42 (geerky42):

OK, so we have the equation: 9x + 36 = 180 In order to find x, we need to isolate x (leave x alone) and this will give you the answer. The variable x needs to be alone, do you know how to make those numbers around x go away and go on other side of the equation?

geerky42 (geerky42):

Basic algebra isn't hard, really. You can do it.

B

geerky42 (geerky42):

All you have to do is Isolate x. If you can combine like terms, then you can do algebra.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simplifying 9x + 36 = 180 Reorder the terms: 36 + 9x = 180 Solving 36 + 9x = 180 Solving for variable 'x'. Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right. Add '-36' to each side of the equation. 36 + -36 + 9x = 180 + -36 Combine like terms: 36 + -36 = 0 0 + 9x = 180 + -36 9x = 180 + -36 Combine like terms: 180 + -36 = 144 9x = 144 Divide each side by '9'. x = 16 Simplifying x = 16

Go to www.algebrahelp.com there is an algebra calculator all you do is type in your equations. Hope this helps!
