Why was the new deal program needed in Florida?

The New Deal was the domestic economic policy of President Roosevelt,implemented from 1933 onwards.It's purpose was to lift the US economy out of the Great Depression through government sponsored programs to create jobs and thus stimulate economic growth.

However,the policy didn't work.The initiatives comprising it were a poorly thought out,short term,short sighted, haphazard hodge-podge of measures that did little except increase the size of government.Not until WW2 did the American economy emerge from the Great Depression.
