This is pretty easy yet I'm having a problem with this... Please someone help me.. brain cells not working today. What comes when you take the parentheses off? 2(x-1)(x-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are you asking exactly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean.. how to say that without parentheses? Sorry if I'm not explaining it well.. I think I need to count x times x and x times -1 and -1 times x and -1 times-1.. ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's ok lol I have moments like this too but are you trying to solve it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah.. what I'm getting out of this is just not working.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh sorry but i think you would have to ask someone else i wouldn't know exactly what to do first sorry :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you might have to FOIL the problem then multiply by the two but it is just a guess.

OpenStudy (callisto):

@TryingToLearn Can we just consider (x-1)(x-1) first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for you reply still Jocelyn. And yeah I think that's the main problem I have. sigh

OpenStudy (callisto):

(x-1)(x-1) = x (x-1) - 1 (x-1) So far so good? :|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yay I got it figured out now. Appriciate the help, thanks!
