I mean.. how to say that without parentheses? Sorry if I'm not explaining it well..
I think I need to count x times x and x times -1 and -1 times x and -1 times-1.. ?

I think you might have to FOIL the problem then multiply by the two but it is just a guess.

= x (x-1)  -  1 (x-1)
