Brutus was betrayed by his best friend, Brutus. Brutus was convinced by other Senators to draw Caesar to the Senate, alone, on March 15th. There, the Senators pulled out knives and stabbed him to death. Caesar trusted Brutus, who in turn ended up murdering him because the Senate thought him too powerful.
