When historians write about the past, they consider the events from the point of view of as many different groups of people as possible. Why is this important? They need to keep lawsuits from minority groups from occurring later on. Collecting information from only a few sources could give a biased account of the past. This will make their description of the past easier to translate for other groups of people. If they do not collect enough information, they will not be able to get their writing published.
