well, 2/5=0.4 So, how do we cancel the dividing? \[\frac{ 8 }{ x }=0.4\]

no idea mathe is like chicken scratching to me makes no sense at all. I need to be walked through each stip to understand how to do this

Okay, well to undo the dividing, we're going to multiply each side x. This will cancel the x on the left side and give us 0.4x on the other. Can you tell me what our equation looks like now? :o)

\[(x)\frac{ 8 }{ x }=0.4(x)\]
