The Cool Company determines that the supply function for its basic air conditioning unit is S(p) = 40 + 0.008p3 and that its demand function is D(p) = 200 - 0.16p2, where p is the price. Determine the price for which the supply equals the demand. $22.36 $21.86 $21.36 $22.86

ahhhhh I think is is the the 3rd one but I am not sure

OpenStudy (shane_b):

Set both equations equal to each other and solve for p: \[40 + 0.008p^3=200 - 0.16p^2\] You should get $21.86

ohh okay thamks

np :)

@TNNG was the answer correct? i have to do the same thing...

OpenStudy (shane_b):

The hint here is in the line: "Determine the price for which the supply equals the demand." So set both equations equal to each other and solve for p as shown above.

thanks :) do you think you could help me with another problem from precal, @Shane_B ?
