ok... you have a cross section that will be rectangular... the height of the cross section is 10cm the length of the base needs pythagoras' theorem the sides of the cube are all 10 cm so the triangular shape has dimensions 6 cm and 3 cm |dw:1358114231484:dw| so \[w^2 = 6^2 + 3^2\] hope this helps
