A cube of side length 10 cm is intersected by a plane perpendicular to the base as shown. Part 1: Describe the shape of the cross section formed by the cube and the intersecting plane. Please help really confused

ok... you have a cross section that will be rectangular...

the height of the cross section is 10cm

the length of the base needs pythagoras' theorem

the sides of the cube are all 10 cm

so the triangular shape has dimensions 6 cm and 3 cm


so \[w^2 = 6^2 + 3^2\]
