Write the expression as a single logarithm. log340 – log310 Show Work

OpenStudy (kropot72):

\[\log_{} a-\log_{} b=\log_{} \frac{a}{b}\]

OpenStudy (goten77):

the only thing i dont like is how it says "show work" when there is basically very very little work to show.. besides the reducing....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am pretty new to this, would you please do a step by step?

OpenStudy (kropot72):

One of the basic rules of logarithms is: \[\log_{} a-\log_{} b =\log_{} \frac{a}{b}\] Let a = 340 and let b = 310. Now substitute the values of a and b into the basic rule.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So basically I end up with log340/310? And then reduced to log34/31?

OpenStudy (kropot72):

@giggitygun You are correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh didn't realize it was that easy, thanks!

OpenStudy (kropot72):

You're welcome :)
