What is the first step in solving the equation 5x − 3 = 22? A.Add 3 to both sides of the equation. B.Divide both sides of the equation by −5. C.Divide both sides of the equation by −3. D.Subtract 3 from both sides of the equation

If you divide by -5, you'll have to do more steps than needed, divide by 3 will get you nowhere, substracting 3 will get yo nowhere too, but if you add 3, you'll get 5x=25, which is just 1 step before solution...
