OpenStudy (anonymous):

side ab, bc, cd, de are equal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the triangle a rt-angled one at D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Gut abreit!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let DE= ab=bc= cd=x tany =1 tana=DE/DA =1/3and tanb=DE/DB=1/2 now tan(a+b) =(1/3 +1/2)/( 1- (1/3)(1/2))= (1/2+1/3)/(1-1/6) =(5/6)/(5/6)=1 thus tan(a+b)=1 but tany=1 hence tan(a+b)=tany thus a+b=y

hope it helps u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could have just exterior angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank Youu! It was helpful :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the other way to solve is to complete the rectangle with sides as AD and DE and draw the inner squares and then use elementary geometrical properties

welcome dear
