Why does "Mass" produce "Gravity"?

According to Einstein's General Theory of Relativity , a heavier mass curves the space time fabric and any object then is attracted to that heavier mass.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An object has mass,means lots of atom. All atom try to attract each other but outer surface has some limitations to attract. This lacking of attraction produce resultant attraction force towards that object is called Gravity.
