Solve. 6x=7x+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, get your x's on the same side by -7x. Can you do it? :o)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 4x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=4?

OpenStudy (hba):

No.

OpenStudy (hba):

See this Subtract 2 from both sides 6x-2=7x+2-2

OpenStudy (hba):

After thins subtrace 6x from both sides.

OpenStudy (hba):

this * subtract*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it x=-2?

OpenStudy (hba):

Yeah right. You can also check my putting your answer in the orignal question and see if LHS=RHS . 6x=7x+2 6(-2)=7(-2)+2 -12=-14+2 -12=-12 LHS=RHS. Therfore,x=-2 :)

Thank you :)

OpenStudy (hba):
