Find the value of x. The diagram is not draw drawn to scale.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, can you classify what shape this is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

parallogram?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm, not quite. A parallelogram has 4 sides, which are parallel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, thats what i've been counting it as. Maybe thats why i've been getting it wrong...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe xD So do you know what shape has 5 sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pentagon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep, so do you know how much the interior angles measure of a pentagon? (n-2)(180)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not really, i'm really bad a geometry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take the number of sides, subtract 2, and then multiply that by 180= that is the measure of the interior angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the whole question i ended up with 90, is that correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For what x equals?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just a sec..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perfect!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really!?!?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah! Its what i got at least, unless i did it wrong too o_o Plug in 90 for x, and add up all the angles and make sure you get 540
