First, image that there's a -1 in front of the parenthesis so that you can distribute: 7=2-1(8-x) Can you solve it? :o)

Or, add (8-x) to both sides giving 7 + (8 - x ) = 2 - (8 - x) + (8 - x) or 15 - x = 2
