Why did many colonists protest the Stamp Act? What actions did the Colonists take? How did the Loyalists respond? Provide details to support your answer. (5 points)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was the first direct tax on the colonists. I believe it was because "no taxation without representation." Meaning that they were not represented in parliment and had no say in the tax so they felt it was unjust to tax them directly. Colonists refused to buy British goods.
