Can two irreducible polynomials share a common root?

OpenStudy (klimenkov):

Sure. \(P_1(x)=x-1\), \(P_2(x)=x-1\). They have a common root \(x_0=1\), but both of of them are irreducible.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha, okay, two distinct irreducible polynomials.
