A number is selected at random from first 200 natural numbers. Find the probability that the number is divisible by 6 or 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the probability of selecting a number divisible by 6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Look at the number of multiples of 6 in the first 200 natural numbers and the number of multiples of 8. But then you have double counted some numbers (for example 24), so you must take those out. Which numbers will you double count?

48,96,144,192

You are missing some. You got the multiples of 48, but there are others, like 72.

thanks jaebond actually we have to consider the numbers divisible by 6 + numbers divisible by 8 - Numbers divisible by LCM of 6 and 8 which is 24 I was only considering numbers divisible by 48
